Under the motto 'Support your Local Market', the old vegetable garden (lots of hard work for something the village market sells at neighbourly prices) is being turned into a palm garden. Over the last two years some twenty young palms have been planted - the beginning of an interesting collection of species. Among them: Neodypsis, Brahea armata, Sabal minor, Butia capitata, Trachycarpus fortunei, Chamaedorea elegans, Chamaerops humilis, Livistona chinensis, Livistona australis, Washingtonia robusta, Phoenix reclinata, Phoenix canariensis and a very small Bismarckia.
