Self catering holiday rental villa with seaview and privacy, Western Algarve, Portugal is located in the Western Algarve, ten minutes outside Lagos in a quiet rural area with splendid views towards the Atlantic Ocean. The beaches of Meia Praia, Praia da Batata, and Porto das Mós and the old town of Lagos are all within ten minutes - as are the Penina and Palmares championship golfcourses. Widening the circle to twenty minutes brings within reach: the stunning West coast beaches, the land's end of Cape St. Vincent, and seven other golf courses: Parque da Floresta, Boavista, Carvoeiro Golf Club, Alto, Pestana Golf Resort and the brand new, spectacularly located Morgado de Reguengo with its hundred of acres, lakes with clouds of flamingos, total silence, and inexplicably, hardly a soul in sight. But the greatest attraction of all is, that once you are here, you don't really need to go anywhere.
How to get here
- From Faro (45 mins): take the A22, also known as Via do Infante, in the direction of Portimão.
- From Lisbon (circa 2.5 hrs): go South along either the IP1 toll road or the older IC1 highway till you get to the A22, where you turn West in the direction of Portimão and Lagos.
- Once on the A22 West, pass Portimão and take the first Odiáxere exit.
- Go straight at first roundabout, right at the next one. You are now on EN125, driving towards Lagos.
- After passing the sign for Arão at about 1 km (0.6 m), look right and you will see the Self catering holiday rental villa with seaview and privacy, Western Algarve, Portugal sitting right in the middle of the low hill in the distance, marked by cypresses.
- Drive on into the village of Odiáxere, and at the third traffic lights turn right, following signs for Barragem.
- Drive through the village, past the market square and the windmill, and at the bottom, where the road forks, turn right in the direction of Arão. (Do not continue straight on following signs for Quinta das Achadas!)
- Almost immediately you cross a bridge, then after about 400 m (0.25 m) comes a crossing where you continue straight on. (Do not follow sign pointing left for Quinta das Ruivas!) You then cross an irrigation channel and continue for another 100 m till you see a white electricity box with the name of the property stenciled in black.
- Turn left into gravel driveway, go up and park on either of the small parking lots outside the gate.
