A woodblock print by Ando Hiroshige (1797-1858) from the famous series "Views from the Sixty Odd Provinces". It depicts Yazashiga Bay, also called Ninety-nine Ri Beach, in Kazusa Province. Fisherman are hauling in their net in the traditional manner of beach fishing that is still practiced in many parts of the third world. Excellent background information on this print is found in the work of Edward F. Strange, online at the Hiroshige Organisation.
